UEFA C Diploma – Gibraltar FA

Aim

The Gibraltar FA / UEFA C Diploma is the next stage of the Gibraltar FA Coach Education pathway for coaches who have completed the required introductory grassroots coaching qualification.

The course is designed to support coaches as they progress from grassroots-level learning by further developing their coaching knowledge, understanding and delivery. In line with the UEFA Coaching Convention, the UEFA C Diploma introduces and develops key areas of coaching across the technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social aspects of player development.

The course aims to provide coaches with the tools, confidence and practical experience required to plan, deliver and review effective coaching sessions within a grassroots or youth football environment.

About

Candidates will be required to attend online webinars, practical contact days and complete e-learning tasks as part of the course.

Post-contact work will also be required, in addition to an on-course Gibraltar FA / UEFA coaching assessment, in order to successfully achieve the UEFA C Diploma.

Completion of the course will provide candidates with the prerequisite qualification to access the UEFA B Diploma, subject to meeting the Gibraltar FA’s admissions criteria.

Mentoring & Assessment

Candidates will have 2 Mentoring Sessions followed by 2 assessment sessions on the modes of practice educated within this course.  All sessions will be completed with the candidate’s club players and in reality, to their environment.

** Applicants who are not based in Gibraltar or within close proximity must have their own camera equipment ( I.E. VEO ) available to record their mentoring sessions.

Outcomes

The Gibraltar FA / UEFA C Diploma will provide coaches with the opportunity to further explore Gibraltar FA coaching principles and understand how these can be embedded into coaching practices through the use of general practices, small-sided games and age-appropriate activities.

The course will also introduce coaches to the key moments of the game, including attacking, defending and transition. This will help candidates increase their understanding of game principles and provide them with practical examples that can be applied within their own coaching environment.

By the end of the course, coaches should feel more confident in planning, delivering and reviewing sessions, while being able to adapt their coaching approach to meet the needs of their players.
