UEFA C & B Combined Diploma – Gibraltar FA
For Long-Serving Players
Aim
The Gibraltar FA / UEFA C & B Combined Diploma is designed for longer-serving players who are transitioning from playing into coaching and who meet the specific admission criteria set out within the UEFA Coaching Convention.
The course provides an accelerated but structured coach education pathway, allowing eligible candidates to work towards both the UEFA C Diploma and UEFA B Diploma within one combined programme. It is designed to recognise the playing experience of longer-serving players while ensuring they develop the coaching knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours required to work effectively within the game.
In line with the UEFA Coaching Convention, the course will support candidates in developing their understanding of player development, session planning, coaching delivery, game understanding, individual and team performance, and reflective practice.
About
The Gibraltar FA / UEFA C & B Combined Diploma combines the key learning outcomes of both the UEFA C Diploma and UEFA B Diploma into one structured programme for eligible longer-serving players.
The course will include a blend of online learning, classroom-based theory, practical contact days, e-learning tasks, work experience, mentoring and on-course assessment. Candidates will be required to complete both guided learning and practical work within their own coaching environment.
The programme will focus on helping candidates make the transition from player to coach by developing their ability to plan, deliver and review effective coaching sessions, support individual, team development, and apply technical and tactical understanding within realistic football situations.
Outcomes
By the end of the course, candidates should be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of both a UEFA C Diploma and UEFA B Diploma coach.
Candidates will develop their ability to create positive learning environments, deliver age and ability-appropriate practices, and support players across the technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social aspects of the game.
The course will also help candidates develop a deeper understanding of the key moments of the game, including attacking, defending and transition, while supporting their ability to analyse performance, provide feedback and adapt their coaching approach to meet the needs of players and teams.
Successful candidates should feel confident, reflective, and capable of working within grassroots, youth and senior amateur football environments, while continuing their development along the UEFA Coach Education pathway.
