Aim

The course is framed within the Principles of Play, additionally we fundamentally aim to create coaches who have the capacity to plan and design meaningful practice, adapt to the varied contexts and challenge their personal philosophy to develop the individuals’ and teams’ multi-disciplinary demands. Central to this is developing the coach’s capacity to utilise and apply reflective practice techniques. 

About 

Delivered through flexible teaching methods over a 12-month period, the course is framed through 2 residential teaching blocks, delivered within the competitive season, with in-situ support provided between each contact by our highly skilled mentoring staff who will challenge the individual needs of the coach within their own context. Further to this a series of innovative online modules will be released throughout the course, and opportunities to observe elite training sessions provides critical ingredients to enable the coach to flourish. 

Outcome 

Following successful completion of our online modules, distance learning tasks, and ongoing mentoring programme, candidates will gain the UEFA A & Elite Youth A Licence qualification. 

Who the course is for?

To apply for the UEFA A Licence, applicants must meet the criteria detailed below. 

Essential

• FAW/ UEFA B Licence Completed at least one years’ experience after graduating with the UEFA B Licence as a coach in 11 a side football.

Mentoring

To complete the club based mentoring sessions you are required to be coaching U14’s Upwards Coaches may be required to provide a camera and mic to support the mentoring process.

*If coaching in Gibraltar these can be accessed through the Association.

Affiliated Rate

To receive the discounted rate, candidates must meet the below criteria:

• Coaching or playing in Gibraltar’s Football Landscape.
• GFA / UEFA B Diploma holder or FAW / UEFA B Diploma Holder. (*Completed in Gibraltar)

*Includes small amount of kit, small tactics board, Lunch, Evening Meal & Refreshments whilst on course.

Non-Affiliated Rate

• Does NOT coach or play in the Gibraltar Senior or Youth League
• Does NOT hold a role of any capacity within a Club in Gibraltar. 

*This rate includes Accommodation for the contact days in Gibraltar plus a small amount of kit, small tactics board and 3 Meals per day and refreshments. Transport to and from venues from within Gibraltar.
